More stuff that happened

Well, I can now say I've been to a Dave and Busters. Several people at Sean's work were getting promoted so they pooled together and threw a party at DnBs. It was pretty nice. They had an appetizer buffet of chips, salsa or nacho cheese; mini pizzas (like silver dollar pancake size); chicken strips; cheeseburger sliders; and a fresh fruit tray. (Although, I'm not certain how fresh because one of the grapes we had grabbed for Nathan had something greyish-green growing on it) There were a bunch of waitresses ready to take drink orders. When we got there, Abby had to use the restroom, which was back in the arcade area. So she knew the games were there and was itching to get thru dinner so she could go wild. So we ate, played games...her favorite was the horse race where you roll a ball and it falls into the "run, trot, or walk" holes. There were not a ton of games for her age group. Guess that is covered by Chuck E. Cheese... Anyway, when we exhausted our debit game card, we were ready to leave, when the party room had a big sheet cake cut for the promoted. So she got a big piece of cake, and as she is devouring the mile high icing, she declares this to be her absolute FAVORITE new restaurant.

Nathan was entertained, but there wasn't much for him to do other than look around at the flashing lights everywhere. He did play a few games with assistance. He slept on the ride home, so he is now completely wound up and full of cake.

Latest medical news: Abby had her one month post-op eye exam. Everything looks great. She was extremely cooperative and did everything they asked. With the refraction machine, they got her reading the 20/30 line in both eyes! Yay, I'll take it. So now we have a new prescription just in time for the back to school glasses sales. I'm not sure which deal sounds better.

Sears: 2 pair for $99, frames and lenses. Bifocals extra. 1 year warranty and 90 day prescription change lens replacement. (Very important as the script could change again at her next visit in Sept)

Lenscrafters: Buy the frames, lenses free. (Even bifocals) I believe the same warranties apply, but frames are expensive.

JCPenney: 75% off frames, and then 25% lenses. They were closed, so couldn't get warranty info.

Pearle: Kids complete pair $150, currently running buy one get one, so 2 for $150. Only 60 day script change replacement.

Haven't checked Wal Mart, but it seems they were not that competitive a year or so ago when we tried getting Nathan's glasses.

So...anyone else know of a good deal?

Sandy Cruise said that her glasses were best priced at Costco.
