The latest
Well, we had a nice relaxing time at mom's house for the 4th. We decided not to go to the big fireworks display in Jeff City because usually you can see 3-4 good displays right around the lake. So it gets to be dusk and we are outside walking toward the park and Nathan is intently watching some little bursts fly up above the houses across the street. Well, we get around the curve and can actually see between two houses where they are shooting them off, and right about then, a really big loud one goes off. Nathan totally FREAKED and couldn't climb up me fast enough. He was kind of crying and kept saying "Dat care me!" (That scared me)
So we turn around back to the house, and every single firework going off is making him cry more. It took awhile to calm him down. He was really terrified. Abby was having a blast. She couldn't get enough.
Anyway, the basement guys have finally finished finishing our basement. We now have a lovely room and bath for Papa. I'll have to upload the before and after pics. They said it would only take 4 weeks, but has been more like 8.
Oh, and the doc said that Nathan's lenses need to come out. They are blocking his vision. Great. This doc says not to do implants, and in fact seemed worried that Abby had them. He said in his experience, the sutures only tend to last 3-5 years. Well, Cheesencrackers. That's a punch in the gut. Why was the other guy so gung ho about them? Does that mean that mine are about done? And what should I do about Nathan? He needs them out of the way to develop normal vision, but he is so easy going and happy what would anesthesia and inexplicable pain do to his little personality? Sigh. Why do we have to deal with this AGAIN. So SOON.
