stuff

Lost another day to the doctor...Sean went to sick call for an achy foot and while there, he tried to make an appointment for Nathan. Nothing was available for like 3 weeks, so they referred us to this Urgent care center. Nathan has a rash under one arm that goes down to his waist and looks like spots are starting to show up on his legs. Given the IgE test that says he is allergic to something, but we don't know what, we were a little concerned this was an allergic reaction to something.

So we signed in at urgent care at 10:40 am. This place had no tv, no toys, not even a fish tank to look at. We waited and waited and waited. I was ready to leave. Sean checks with the front desk...there's only one person ahead of us...so we wait. About 1:40, we get called back. They take the vitals and ask what is wrong...and we wait. Doc comes in, looks him over, and tells us nothing profound. He can't rule out a food reaction, but he doesn't really think that is it. It looks more like some contact dermatitis because it was only on the one side. But, it could be impetigo because sometimes the rest of the body will flare up in response which is why the bumps are starting up on his legs. So, put some steroid cream on the big rash for 3 days and see if it helps. If not, take some antibiotics to treat impetigo. Give benedryl to ease the itching (which doesn't seem to be an issue) We didn't get out of there until nearly 3. Urgent care, my @$$.

So we've been putting on the cream and it doesn't look any better. Now there are spots on his elbow and down both legs. I guess tomorrow we start antibiotics. My question now is: since we've put unnecessary steroids on only one side of him, when he's older, is he going to be hairier on that side?

In other news, the farmer harvested his corn yesterday. I was watching the combine going back and forth and started missing Grandpa. Now that the corn is down, there is a whole building that is attached to that catholic church that I didn't know was there.

Our new couch and chair finally came in. Now that we can sit without falling to the floor, you wonder...why did we put up with that for so long???

Our new neighbors just got their sod. We're hoping the grubs that ate up our sod will go over there, now.

Last but not least...can't

stop

playing

Well, that sucks, but I can feel ya on urgent care also! Emergency Rooms tend to be the same way I've discovered! A bunch of "hurry up and wait" going on! Ugh...I don't envy you all there...hope his rash gets better with the antibiotics..."that'll put hair on his chest"--as grandpa would have said! LOL!

Need pics of the new furniture...ooo la la! :-) Oh and what is webkinz? I'm totally googling it after this...lol!

Jen, I bought Abby a webkinz animal from our Halmark store. It comes with a code for the internet. You get on the site and play games for money. Then you buy and set up rooms and a play yard for your animal. It is totally in for tweens right now. Abby is into animals (like her mom was) she takes her doggy everywhere. Now on the net she can play with him interactivly. The dog is the same as the one you bought. Cool huh!!??

She can feed her, make her jump on trampolines, sleep etc. It is totally fun. Lauren and Adam have 4 each. You can have 5 pets to a room. They absolutly love it.

Obviously Stacy is a bit hooked!

Since it isn't going away, do you have to go back to that same place and Dr? Good Grief! Hope they figure it out soon. Let us know what it is if they ever figure it out.
