Have you seen the promote?

What a banner day for the T clan. Today, Sean officially pinned on the rank of "major" and his sister officially got a job. We went to the records center to have a small promotion party. He got his new rank and we had cake and punch. Abby loves cake. The adults were speaking in "code" during the planning and "code" was spelling things. We were talking about the c-a-k-e, and Abby says, "I like cake!" So much for spelling things keeping it secret. It also happened here at the hotel talking about the p-o-o-l. I guess now we have to start speaking pig latin, or learn Russian or something.

Sean invited Colonel Hughes to give a little speech at the promotion because they served together in Iraq. Cnl. Hughes is working at Leavenworth now, so it was nice that he came all this way. He gave a nice speech. Super nice guy.

So now, Sean is no longer the top of the bottom...he's the bottom of the middle. And I'm a Mrs. Major. Good day for us.

Oh, and Heather will be working for Corning as a Melt line Engineer troubleshooting the making of Liquid Crystal Displays. Yeah, the glass that everyone stares at, but nobody notices...the LCD screen on ;your TV. Or maybe your computer. Sounds like a good job. Sad thing is that Sean has been working all this time in the Army and we've put up with so much and she's going to start out making about as much as Sean makes now. Well, it's good for her, maybe a bit sad for us...
