Eeep
So after looking at house after house in and around Scott, we found one we think we like. It has a Fairview Heights mailing address, but it is in O'Fallon schools, which are ranked in the top tier of Illinois schools. The house is still being built, so we have to wait a month before it will be ready, but the realtor said even if we bought a re-sale home, it would take up to three weeks to get the title work done. Right now, the community is in a corn field. Our house is on a culdesac and the only thing behind us eventually will be the subdivision pool. Down the block is a subdivision baseball and soccer field and two lakes with fountains. There will also be walking trails. I so hope all these things will help it resell when the time comes.
The saddish part was that we didn't even really look in Missouri. Missouri would have been closer to family and friends. We had a day of visits planned for the day after we found this place, but we jumped on this one. The ones we were going to look at were 3 bedrooms, and no amenities, so perhaps we did better??? I'm so nervous about this whole thing. This house is a four bedroom with lots of square footage. We are going to be about 25 miles from Sean's work, and within 5 minutes of our exit, you can see the Arch. Sean won't have to battle the sun on his commute, so that's good. I just hope we made the right choice. (Does is sound like I'm still talking myself into it?) The house is in drywall stage, and we were driving by it telling Abby it would be our new house, and she says, "Bob the Builder is making our house."
PS--Toddlers hate being confined in hotel rooms. Even if it is only a couple of hours.

Nice looking house.
Cool deal, Lucille! Can you literally see the arch from your house? Or from the exit? :-)
I suppose if you built a tall tower on our roof, and had a good pair of binoculars, or a telescope...and it wasn't smoggy...
